Who We Are
The Origin Story
What started out as an accident, ended up turning into Meaties. An overcooked batch of jerky and being the crunchy-snack addict that I am sparked an idea for the ultimate protein chip. After experimenting with how thinly we could slice the beef to testing dozens of flavor combinations (big thanks to the brave souls who tried these first batches...I'm looking at you John, Tamara, Richard, Christina, and can't forget Mom and Dad!), the result is what you see today.
Our Values
If we are going to do this, we are going to do it in a way that aligns with our values. We use the highest quality ingredients that are better for you and for the environment. That means using grass-fed and finished beef from small American farmers like Michelle and the Smith family over at Veteran's Liberty Ranch. It also means some of our spices and salt come from equitable brands like Burlap & Barrel and Redmond Real Salt. We like to brag about the ingredients we use, but we are just as proud about the ingredients we don't use: sugar, seed oils, refined starch, gluten, preservatives...none of those ingredients that can be found in most ultra-processed snacks lining your grocery store aisles. We've created a snack that we feel good about eating and we believe there's a whole tribe of people out there like us looking for an option like Meaties.
Our Mission
Meaties is for the mom who's on the go all day, the healthcare worker who's working a 12-hour shift, the athlete who's trying to get those gains, the kid who's trying to pack a healthier lunch box...it's for anyone trying to swap out that bag of potato chips or chewy, sugar-laden jerky with a *dare I say* better alternative. Meaties was made for people like you by people like you!
